I ran across this artice, http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070605&sportCat=nba, by the Sports Guy which raises a good point, it seems that no matter what, as time passes people start forgetting how great the stars of yesteryear really were. This was sparked by the mobs of journalists ready to say after Lebrons 48 point performance in game 4 against Detroit that even Jordan never dominated a game like that. Unfortunately it was less than ten years ago that Jordan not only dominated a game like that, but he dominated the entire league. Nor was Lebrons performance anywhere near as impressive as Magic playing center and putting up 42/15/7 while leading the lakers to the 1980 title. (sidenote Magic was 20 at the time so the he is so young card isnt playing with me Lebron)
So today lets cheers to all of the stars that have since retired and are now in the process of being forgotten. Simmons picked Havlicek as his forgotten star, I choose Kurt Rambis, people seem to forget that he was the most dominate white player to ever wear goggles, pick your own forgotten star and make today all about them.
