Steve Jobs Knows What I Wanna Listen To

Since the print addition of Chin Chin won’t be out for at least a month, you’re probably reading this on a computer. And if your use a computer these days, theres a pretty good chance you use iTunes.

I use iTunes, and I like iTunes, but one feature I’ve never gotten into is smart playlists, I played around with them a while ago but wasn’t pleased with the results. I just read this on lifehacker, which lead me to this, both seem like good methods for getting pretty good smart playlists. I like the second, tagging method better. Using the staring system limits you to five “genres” and I like to use one star to remind me to delete the track. I’m going to have to set aside a few hours to start asigning some tags to my library, party, mellow, bonin’, bloggingMusic, etc. If you were wondering, I’m all about Russian techno when I blog.

Here’s to smart playlists.

Dirty Drinks

June 26, 2007 · Leave a Comment

While spending the last week in Jamaica I realized an interesting phenomenon; drinks with funny names just seem to taste slightly better.  For example something I never even thought about ordering before in my life, a shirley temple with vodka, now name it a Dirty Shirley and all of the sudden it becomes so much fun to say the drink name you cannot stop ordering them.  Same thing goes for the Jamacian specailty the “Dirty Banana” just try ordering one of these and when the bartender asks how dirty you want it reply “a little dirtier than a mustache”.  It promises to be good times for everyone involved.  I am pretty sure this phenomenon works for more standard drinks to such as turning a budweiser into a “dirty bud” or a PBR into a “dirty ribbon” so tonight try it out, go to your local watering hole and order your favorite drink in dirty form, you might just have a good time.  Cheers to that.
