Chin Chin!

Like Peter Tosh Said…

Today is the 70th anniversary of the Marijuana Tax Act. The tax didn’t make the chronic illegal, but the penalty for not paying the tax was so steep that nobody would sell herb on the open market. We here at Chin Chin don’t condone pot, as it can lead to a decrease in alcohol consumption. However, many people we respect (see photos edit: no photo’s, wordpress is being a bitch) have been known to smoke, and out of respect for them we support legalization. Today’s toast is to the future legalization of marijuana. Hat tip to the Freakonomics Blog.

Saying Good-bye

As of tomorrow I will no longer be gainfully employed and no longer be a part of the AmeriCorps Cape Cod program.  This gives me to solid reasons to drink, first to celebrate one last time with the people I spent the last year of my life with (at least those who are still around), and because it is always easier to say good-bye with a hangover!
