Today we raise a glass to our favorite punctuation marks. Mine is the semi colon; too important for a comma but not quite formal enough to need a full colon: call upon the semi-colon; the most versatile punctuation mark in the English language.

As of tomorrow I will no longer be gainfully employed and no longer be a part of the AmeriCorps Cape Cod program.  This gives me to solid reasons to drink, first to celebrate one last time with the people I spent the last year of my life with (at least those who are still around), and because it is always easier to say good-bye with a hangover!

Sometimes, when a girl asks you if you want to go back to her place at 2 a.m. for a game of scrabble, she doesn’t really want to play scrabble.

I propose a toast to scrabble!

This blog led me to this website, which told me that this blog is rated PG, based on STP’s use of the word murder. I’d like to think I have some more offensive posts in me, but maybe I’m just a PG kind of guy. Of course, we are more or less all about boozin here, and that seems PG-13.

Cheers to Cornbread

It’s the 5th of July, between my various activities from the 4th and the
coffee I’m drinking to stay awake, I’m pretty dehydrated. Water tastes
so much better in this condition, almost good enough to dehydrate
oneself just to enjoy a delicious glass of the stuff. Here’s to
dehydration.

I’m spending my fourth at the beach, so I feel compelled to toast a couple of Frenchman. On July 5th, 1946 the bikini was introduced to the modern world.

In the grand scheme of things, I suppose I lead a fairly privileged life. I wasn’t born into old money or go to an elite boarding school, but compared to the vast majority of people alive today, and almost everyone alive previously, my life ain’t bad. But if I committed treason I’m almost positive I wouldn’t get my sentence commuted. Here’s to you Scooter Libby. God Bless America.

In the spirit of Einstein, Here’s a thought experiment for you; imagine your riding on a ray of light, and you pass somebody riding a zebra going the opposite direction. What happens when you attempt to toast one another?

There’s a new biography of Al that looks interesting, at least if you’ve got an inner geek like I do. Maybe I’ll go pick it up to celebrate the big anniversary. Whatever your answer to the experiment is, it should include toasting Albert Einstein.
